farewell to Blogger!
I’m back. It’s been an interesting and fun few days. It feels great to have all my weblog data in my own database, so I can do with it what I please. I’ve been wanting to do this at least since June.
There are a couple of changes around here:
-a tweak of the design. Hope you like it.
-when you click on the “talk back” link, you now go to a full page with the original post at the top, and all the comments below. I changed this because I like seeing the context of the comments on the same page, and I think a full page (rather than a pop-up window) gives the words room to breathe. But I can change this back if people don’t like it this way.
-permalinks now go to a separate page, rather than an anchor on an archive page. I think this is cleaner and better.
-rather than a separate “links” page, I set up a little database table with my favorite links in it. You’ll get one for each refresh. It’s a stopgap measure until I get my weblog directory system worked out.
I also changed the words mean things directory, as you have found. There will always be a redirect from the original page to this one, but you might want to update your bookmarks.
Let me know what you think, and bring on 2002!
