Back from the beyond

Post – August 3, 2001

Since I’m a little low on inspiration for blog posts this morning, I thought I would do an experiment. I’m working on a new site design for The Biodiversity Project, a non-profit here in Madison. The link is to their current site, which apparently was put together using FrontPage and FrontPage clip art (ugh). This morning, after days of coming up with stuff I didn’t like, I finally hit on a design that I like a lot.

So since I’m so numb after the “damned with faint praise” Blog You! review, I thought I would give you, my esteemed readers, a chance to critique the proposed design. Do your worst.

Frontpage sucks. (Aren’t I redundant?) The layout’s cool. Umm. Yeah. I just woke up so I have no criticism. Kinda zonkedo ut right now. ;p

i love! it has a wonderful fresh feeling. Airy and natural and all that good shit – plus, I have a big simplicity fetish at the moment so it has huge suey-appeal 🙂

wow, that is so much better. The former looks like a site for a health food store, and the latter looks like a really intelligent and modern organisation…

vast improvement. old design was, well, old-looking, new design is clean, modern, easy on the eye.
however i must take exception to bagging on frontpage. frontpage doesn’t make bad websites, bad designers make bad websites.
