If Bush said “we’re going to smoke them out of their caves” one more time last night, I was going to reach through the television and bang his head against the lectern. What a triumph of dehumanizing propaganda. After all, who lives in caves? Animals and savages.
And while we’re on the subject of propaganda, does “The Office of Homeland Security” scare you as much as it scares me?
Words. mean. things.
Um… they actually are hiding in caves. I agree that it’s a cliche, but it’s accurate.
I was just going to say that…..
We don’t know for sure they are in caves. And if we did know for sure, we should know what caves they are in and get this thing over with. For all we know, OBL could be vacationing in the Bahamas right now, laughing at all the wasted military firepower being used to find his cave.
Sorry about that post, I’m a little cranky. It’s early on a Saturday morning and I’m about to board a plane. It’s hard for me not to get cranky when thinking about dubya benefiting so much from the deaths of thousands of people in the US and Afghanistan.
*sigh*
This is the great thing about America. We’re all free to argue over Bin Laden’s cave / no-cave status. Isn’t it nice?
Bushs’ rhetoric frequently makes me want to apologize for my species, except I get the feeling whoever we could apologize to has left the building long, long ago and we’re at the mercy of our own devices now.
