Back from the beyond

Post – December 19, 2001

In one of those wonderful technology moments that sneak up and bite you in the ass, I have discovered that my formerly-expensive Rio 500 MP3 player doesn’t work with Windows 2000. I’ve been enjoying 2000 quite a bit, since it’s sooo much more stable than that house of cards called Windows 98. But this really chaps my hide. Now the thing is basically a useless little brick – at least for me.

Anyone want to buy a mint-condition Rio 500? It’s actually a nice little unit, USB connection, 64MB, nice display. I’ll let it go cheap.

Um, could you define the current meaning of “cheap?” 🙂

My only question to you is, what kind of batteries does it take?

How does $50 sound? And it takes one AA battery. E-mail me if interested.

    Strange, the 600 works fine…

does it work with WinME which is basically an upgrade to 98? if so, & if your previous folks don’t take it, i’m all over it.

I’m sure it would work with WinME, kd, but the prize (?) has already been snapped up by Kevin of Observations. Hopefully he will enjoy it and not curse my name (at least, not anymore than he currently does).
