“We’re living in a society!” Part II

Went to my usual car wash today, and there were about three loose dollars in the map pocket of the driver’s side door – I use them for parking, etc.

When I got back into the car, they were gone.

Three dollars isn’t much – it isn’t like I had the Hope Diamond in the car or anything. But it’s the principle of the thing.

Whoah, you shouldn’t let them get away with this. At least get a few free washes from them – that’s not right.

Kevin’s right. But then, by reporting it, you may cause a person to lose their job. Or, they could’ve thought it was your tip for them, but that seems less likely.

Definitely report it. “Hi Mr. Manager. I like coming to your place but I can’t do it anymore. You see, some money was stolen from me last time I was here. Not a lot of money, but if I can’t trust you guys with $3, how can I trust you with my car?” See how many free washes you get with that one.

I wonder how they’d like it if you tried taking one of those big blue swirling brush wheels home with you – I bet they’d be upset. Arthur has a good script there.
