Bread has been sold that way in Japan for years and years. I even knew people there – non-Japanese – who bought the cut-off crusts at bakeries very cheaply and basically subsisted off them, cheap carbohydrates.
I’m fairly sure that deep-fried Twinkies beat both frozen peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and crustless loaves of bread, hands down. How very American…
