On The Daily Show last night they showed an absolutely hilarious/chilling clip of Dubya trying to talk about Saddam and Iraq:
“We have a saying in Tennessee… well, we have it in Texas and I assume it is here in Tennessee as well: ‘Fool me once, shame on… [long pause, blank stare] …shame on you. Fool……. well you won’t fool us again.”
You really can’t get a true sense of how amazing this clip was without seeing it. (If anyone knows if it’s posted anywhere online, let me know.) Jon Stewart played it twice because it was so unbelievable.
This is our Commander in Chief, people. He has the launch codes. Are you really comfortable with that?
We’ve gone from Bonzo’s handler to Bonzo himself. How often do you think they have to hose down his Naughty Pen — I mean, the Presidential Bedroom?
Let’s just hope we can smoke those evil-doers out of their holes. We must end this axis of evil.
On the brighter (unrelated) side, hey – Monster’s Inc came out yesterday. Loved the Mike’s new car clip! That’s all that really matters.
*sigh* For the love of God! He can’t even get a simple, trite saying right?
Doesn’t he have handlers somewhere? Can’t he just lip-synche or something?
Jesus Christ Adam, get over it.
Don’t worry about the launch codes — Cheney probably only lets Dubya see them on Christmas, if he’s been a good boy.
In politics, getting over it means giving up. Did House Republicans “get over” Clinton’s affair? At least Clinton could spell “inappropriate genital contact”.
Interesting thought Haidi.
If that were the case and Cheney had another heart attack (which, given his record, could happen any day now) and died, then that would essentially take care of the whole nuclear war scenario, would it not?
The codes would die with Cheney.
Beat me to it, Jon-Jon. No, I can’t “get over” that our Commander in Chief, the leader of the free world, is a marginally-literate buffoon with only a tenuous grasp on his own brain. That is legitimately scary to me. What I don’t understand is why it doesn’t seem to scare more people.
I think it’s more that he’s a terrible public speaker than an idiot. Anyway, I’d take a verbally bumbling semi-buffoon over a slick liar any day.
thanks for telling me about this.. so fricking funny.
http://www.comedycentral.com/includes/rpmdirect.jhtml?ram=dailyshow%2Fheadlines%2F7034_headline_300.rm is where you can get it online.. also check out the recent headline about Bush talking to the UN. It’s great, and shows his complete lack of any form of intellect quite clearly.
I know this is old-hat, but Clinton lied about screwing some intern — something many a CEO has thought about and done — while Bush is lying about the environment, about why we’re attacking Iraq, about his ties to the oil industry, and about whether or not he’s a recovering cokehead. Per-Spec-Tive.
ok, lets say someone like ME who doesnt have much respect for either clinton or bush (are we still talking about clinton’s affair, sheesh!) – it just seems that many folks start off with disliking one or the other, and then all the pieces of “evidence” fall into place. BUT, i think if i were a BUSH fan, I would still be disturbed. If I agreed with everything he belived in, but he couldn’t actually COMMUNICATE those things, it would be disappointing, to say the least. And I do think it’s a fairly reasonable desire to have the leader of your country, much less the “free world” be able to communicate.
