Roooooo-ben!

Roooooo-ben!

For the second year in a row, my choice won “American Idol.” All I can say is, anyone who can make the theme from “Aladdin” sound amazing has my vote. Clay would (will?) be great on Broadway, but as the American Idol? I think the proper performer won.

Me: But would you really buy Clay’s album?

Haidi: No, but I’d download it from Kazaa.

I liked Kimberley Locke more and more each week, and her “Where The Boys Are” was fantastic. I would love to see her do some recording as well.

The most painful thing about last night was Kelly Clarkson, who pounded out “Miss Independent” with a combination of shouting and bleating. As they said on Television Without Pity, “Ow.” Get some rest, sweetheart. I still like you.

I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one who winced through Kelly’s ENTIRE performance. I felt bad for her, as she’d sung the song on Idol much better on a previous show. They picked her up though with the platinum album presentation.

I had convinced myself that Clay was probably going to win, but I was so happy to see Ruben get to gleen that winning smile. Especially after trying for 2 hours to vote for him and not get through. ;( I would have held myself personally responsible.

AI is dead to me now that Clay lost.

When Matt told me that Ruben won, I said [paraphrased], “I don’t care about the obscene extension of America’s popularity contests.” Then Matt said, “A fat black guy got picked by America over the pretty white guy.” Then it started mattering a little.
