“She represents everything I hate about women”
I’m doing it again. I can’t help myself. Maybe I need to join a support group or something. (Isn’t the first step admitting that I have a problem?)
One of my all-time favorite right-wing habitual statements is “I haven’t [seen/read/listened to/played] that [book/movie/art exhibit/song/game], and I don’t intend to. But I know it is trash, and against all I hold dear in this world.” They see no problem with this statement, or how funny it is. In fact, it’s almost a badge of honor – why would they lower themselves to Satan’s level, when they already know of his evil works?
My general assumption that the world is not dominated by pinheads is taking a beating these days.
COMMENT HIGHLIGHTS ON MDT:
“Read her book? I would rather throw-up for a day.”
BONUS QUESTION: Why does the right hate Hillary Clinton so much? If you had to boil it down to one thing, what would it be? Mrs. dT clearly won’t tell me, so I’m turning to you guys.
“She’s too old, too fat, and not subservient enough to men?” No wait — that was somebody else.
I don’t understand how anybody hates anybody. There is no reason for one being to hate another so passionately in this world. IMO.
Perhaps they are afraid of her? Although I don’t understand what there is to be afraid of. If the daily success or happiness of someone who hates Hillary, or any other politician depends on a book, interview or whatever that person does, then they’ve got more problems than can be solved in an exchange of words w/ other sane people.
The world is definitely not being dominated by pinheads. Pinheads are just louder than the sane majority, who don’t have time to spout hate for one politician or another person or whatever. Pinheads are just louder when it comes to their endless desire to convince the rest of the world that they’re wrong, and everyone needs to have the EXACT same opinion, about EVERY possible thing.
Words do mean things, but when they are refused, unheard, ignored, they become invisible, non-existant. And you can’t change someone’s mind when you’re words are invisible to them.
They hate Hillary for the same reason that liberals hate Dubya — they represent the success of the opposing ideology.
Holy Christ. Did you see that picture?
What picture?
Ooooh! I was going to say, “They hate Hillary because she’s a strong woman with perseverance instead of a clone of June Cleaver.”
But I’m thinking Miss A is onto something closer to the real truth. Damn she’s smart!
I kinda feel sorry for her…
I think it’s because she had the audacity to leave the dinner table before her husband. And she forgot a scarf when it was windy outside.
Does she want power? Sure she does. Does she want to socialize health care? Absolutely — anyone without steady access to health care would understand why. Is she playing the numbers on her husband’s legacy and her stoic survival thereof? Jesus Christ, who wouldn’t?
When we’ve got Newt Gingrich serving his wife with divorce papers at the hospital where she’s recovering from cancer, when we’ve got Bob Dole married how many times and leering at Briney Spears on national television, when we’ve got the Bob Packwood sexual harrassment scandals, this is such an example of pots calling kettles black that it almost negates the very definition of black.
Call me a radical atheist with an agenda, but this “we are right, you are wrong, and a final victory is required” is such antiquated armageddon-laced Judeo-Christian grandstanding. The inability to address one’s own faults while villifying your “enemies” is . . . well, the Greeks explained exactly what that is, and how it inevitably ends.
I don’t like Hillary because she seems like a smug, self-righteous bitch. Thinking along Miss Anthropy’s lines, I imagine Dubya seems like a smug, self-righteous bitch to people on the left.
Hmmm. Food for thought.
capital punishment. silence on Rick Santorium(sp?). welfare reform. pro-war. oh wait, that’s why I HATE HER….. nevermind…
Can’t even be bothered to waste time hating someone. There are so many bigger, more important things to hate than a single person. i can’t afford to waste the energy.
You know, Xkot, now I’m imaging Dubya as Little Bitch from BASEketball. Nonetheless, your point is valid.
I’m kind of wondering about the phrasing — “Everything I hate about women. . . ” Perhaps Hillary Clinton isn’t the problem here.
Exactly, Becky.
I agree wth “Read her book? I’d rather throw up!” The woman is one of the most self-serving people on earth. Anything she has ever advocated has only been to further her own ego.
