Central front

OK so let me get this straight. I’m a little thick sometimes, so it takes a while for me to understand stuff. The President said last night, among other things ($87 billion ring a bell?) that Iraq is now the “central front” on the war on terror. A country that was doing absolutely nothing to threaten us, that had no ties to Al-Qaida and no “weapons of mass destruction” to give to anyone; a country that we invaded without provocation, and now are struggling to contain/rebuild, is the central front on the war on terror?

I guess the war must be going pretty well then.

He is the greatest “free thinker” ever. Unbound by pesky facts, logic, fairness, intelligence, truth or even a consistent morality. Like most on the right he gets to decide which bible quotes are important and which ones are irrelevant. And of course this can change through time as it suits those in power (and or wealth). How nice for them. History repeats over, and over, and over. . . . . . . . .

The speech was puzzling at best, especially the fake preacher voice he was using. So Iraq is the central front on the war on terror, we will spend “whatever it takes” to fight this phony war, especially if one-third of the profit goes to Haliburton, et al. According to NPR today, Ariel Sharon was taking a large number (150?) of people to India to sell arms to that country. Is it still possible to prosecute war profiteers? As “The Onion’s” headline said when Bush was elected, “Our Long Nightmare of Peace and Prosperity Is Over.”

Yep, and what happened to Bin Laden? Weren’t we like 12 hours away from catching this guy at some point? Shoot, at this point he’s probably settled down in a nice house, happily mowing his lawn and holding block parties for all his neighbors.
