Rollback
Mrs. du Toit wants a rollback. Poor dear just can’t deal with the society as it is. Her delicate sensibilities are all aflutter. The only problem with this even-more-insane-than-usual rant is, she doesn’t say how far she wants the rollback to go. I mean, would 1899 be far enough? Get out that whalebone corset and let’s party!
Funny how on one hand she’s angry at the government for getting involved in the private sector, then wants censors and networks to tell people what they can and can’t watch. (by banning shows, regulating them etc.)
Yeah that’s just one of the many conservative contradictions.
Another conservative contradictions is that she probably wants a rollback to a time that never happened. A virginal 1950’s she saw on television but which never existed. A prim and proper Victorian turn of the century, complete with horse manure in the streets, US factories expoiting child labor and massive pollution. A “Christian” 1800 where black slaves do all the hard work. Let’s roll back to that.
I cannot understand how you read her site with any regularity. I nearly threw up. You either have a lot of patience or a lot of pepto bismol.
Heh. My favorite contradiction is the little slice of the duToit home life she gives us:
“I could not believe that a guy who is so obviously unpatriotic and un-American, so obviously a big fat liar, so obviously a commie-fuck [Howard Dean], that I was disturbed by it. After a few minutes I begged Kim to change the channel–which he did, of course.”
Of course? Hmm. Could it be that hubby Kim is (dare I say it?) somewhat _pussified_? Guess we know who runs the remote in _that_ family.
I believe that Adam and others have mentioned it before, but what strikes me about MDT’s latest rant is how it seems that these conservatives are always angry and unhappy, and this despite the fact they’ve been successful at getting their own way lately. They were pissed when they weren’t getting it and now they’re pissed about not getting enough or for having to endure the same kind of opposition they dished out when they weren’t getting it. What has always bothered me about conservative positions is how they’re often simplistic and absolute to the point even a child could follow the alledged arguments. And, precisely, those conservative proponents do seem to exhibit child-like reasoning power, having a tantrum when they don’t get their way or someone disagrees with them.
I know this may be a bit childish but Damn is that woman fucking ugly! So is her husband. Maybe they’re so bitter because they are just so heinous.
Yes, the bitter train has been stopped at her station for quite some time. I say this without even reading her site, as your link seems to have overwhelmed it, making it impossible to view.
PAX tv might be right up her alley. Let’s all chip in and get the woman a Tivo or Replay w/ 30 second skip built right into the remote. I think her comment about Kim changing the channel was to highlight how she thinks he’s a gentlman. Why is she sick of conspiracy theories? Because they keep coming up and from different people? I love when the conservatives like MDT, KDT, and Spleenville say, “I’m *so tired* of hearing that!” or “That argument is so tired!” Apparently, even though they are tired of it, some of us are not tired of saying it. How can one be tired of something they have never done: listening to the idea. Anyway enough character assasination from me. I don’te even know the woman.
She want’s to ROLLBACK? Is that because she can’t COMMIT? Maybe she should change software vendors and GO with the flow. Sorry, SQL joke… couldn’t resist.
Most amusing is the fact that if she wants boorish behavior penalized, the first asshole to find himself in the clink would likely be her husband. First she says the government can’t re-define marriage. Then she wants to tell people — who aren’t the government — that *they* can’t redefine marriage either. Sounds like she just doesn’t want it redefined. Except that it *has* been redefined.
And America *is* a socialist country, to a certain and unavoidable extent, and ironically, the sector of the government that operates most freely from the constraints of Democracy or capitalism is the military, the sector of the government with which Mrs. du Toit seems most happy.
There’s nothing I love more than an intelligent woman, so I feel I can say without a twinge of misogyny that she’s a dumb fucking bitch.
I couldn’t even read through her rant because it was so poorly written and, as an English teacher of mine (yes, mine) once said, “Your total disregard for the paragraph is appalling.”
Did anyone even make sense of this particular sentence fragment?
“I could not believe that a guy who is so obviously unpatriotic and un-American, so obviously a big fat liar, so obviously a commie-fuck, that I was disturbed by it.”
What? You could not believe that a guy who is so obviously a, b, and c, WHAT? What could you not believe about him? I don’t get it.
PS — Johnny Carson was a gentleman?! Exactly HOW many times was that man married?
