I had a great idea today for helping to pay for that $87 billion for Iraq and Afghanistan. Every time an administration official mentions “9/11” (and all its permutations, the primary being “the lessons of September 11th”) when not actually *talking about* 9/11, they have to pay $10,000 into the federal treasury.

I’d make it retroactive too, but I don’t think the President has that much in his bank account.

I suppose it depends on whether he is allowed to use campaign contributions.

Yeah I think we’d need to stipulate – personal funds only.

um, fellas – wouldnt you want him to deplete his campaign funds – then there’s an actual chance your plan might work – pay for the whole 87 billion this way – and less money for campaigning. I would add a bigger fee for any PHOTO OP that includes mentions or allusions to 9/11

Yes! A photo op fee would be great! Now we’re getting somewhere.

And don’t forget the people that saw the attack, instantly thought “profit”, and started churing out various Twin tower tchotchkies.
