Sometimes I worry that this site is becoming too political, and/or too deadly serious. Not that those things aren’t important, but I wonder if people come here for that sort of thing. I’ve been noticing how I swing wildly from posting about Joe Millionaire to posting about Guernica. I don’t know if many people hold those interests in common.
But I almost can’t stop myself from writing about the truly bizarre state of the country. With Bill O’Reilly and Patriot II and Guernica and orange alerts and plastic sheeting and Tom Ridge saying “specific information” doesn’t include time, place or manner, I sometimes don’t recognize the world around me any more. And one way I try to deal with it is writing about it. Bear with me.
Isn’t that the beauty of blogs? Feel free to post your mind. It’s enjoyable and insightful to read. Free the mind, and the blog will follow.
I appreciate you sharing your thoughts — and your friends & readers.
I’m sure the plastic sheeting will work just as well as when we grade school kids practiced putting our heads under our desks to protect us from nuclear radiation & fallout. It gave a whole generation nightmares, as well as some realization of what really would happen if we became involved in a war.
Shock and Awe? Maybe not in the “drawing board” terms this administration fantisizes.
Reality TV and fear of death – it’s what the world is right now. It’s kind of grotesque in the bigger picture.
Besides which, it’s your site. Write about what you want. You are expresive and articulate, and don’t seem to have any trouble retaining readers (judging by the comments).
i for one skim over the tv-stuff, and look for the more interesting, er, serious stuff – except of course The Left Wing – I do like when you talk about that show
I love it all! GO ZORA!!!
And I just realized that I can’t spell. Sorry.
Keep it up, Adam. You’ve got a nice little oasis of sanity going here.
