H. Sandwich in 2004!

Mike VS: Well, if Joe Lieberman is running in 2004, I can’t see myself voting for him.

Me: Really? If a ham sandwich was running against Bush, I’d vote for it in a heartbeat.

I stand by that assertion. But if I had to pick a favorite among the Dems right now, I’d pick Howard Dean. He understands grassroots organization, he speaks his mind forcefully but with common sense, he makes good use of the internet, and he has none of the “let’s beat Bush by falling all over ourselves to be the most like him” stink that permeates most of the other candidates.

Plus, how could I not like a guy who presided over passing civil unions for gay couples in Vermont? He caught tremendous heat for it but still managed to get re-elected in 2000.

“Vermont is the only state in the country where everyone is equal under the law and I think that?s a good thing and I think most Americans believe that?s a good thing.”
-Howard Dean on “Meet the Press,” March 2003

I was convinced after watching Dean’s performance against the smirking Tim Russert that Dean has the ability to frame issues strongly, with an air of common sense, and still get his point across. Just what we need right now, if you ask me.

I’d vote for any food, even a condiment, before voting for Bush or Lieberman.

Thanks for the tip off about Dean. Down here (FL) the only Dem that keeps getting any press is Graham. The link to Dean’s site will help me get better informed.

I heard Dean on WPR last week, and I said, “This man is a fucking genius.” He made me cry just by speaking truths. I think I love him.

BJ and Jesse: I can’t stand Lieberman either, and I’ve said so more than once on this site. But faced with the choice of Lieberman or four more years of Bush & Co., I’ll take my chances with Joe.

Senator Grahm Baby! (Kelly Clarkson Baby!)

You say Dean makes good use of the Internet just because he has a blog? Sheesh. I’m down on his main site’s crummy servelet urls.

I’d vote for navel lint over Bush, but maybe take the sandwich over Lieberman. Besides, Dean is by far the best-looking candidate, so …
    ____________
    I go now.

I don’t care what any of the experts say, Dean is the only one who has a prayer of beating dubya. He’s the only significant candidate with an anti-war vote and with a fiscally successful track record. A little media training and charm school and he’s as viable as anyone.

Vote for Dean in next Tuesday’s Move On Primary, an early attention-getting vote that may determine who gets Move On’s endorsement.

Thanks for mentioning Move On, Arthur. I was going to but forgot.

I stand by my earlier assessment of the field:

John Edwards is just fucking hot.

Speaking of Kelly Clarkson, she was on Daily show the other night. She’s pounding up a little (in a good way :-D)

Mike, can we nominate people we think are hot even if they’re not running? I’ll compile a list.
