I don’t hate the President. I loathe him. “Hate” might be reserved for people like Karl Rove, John Ashcroft, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld. It was really they who took advantage of a freaked-out country to push through their scary neocon agenda. Bush was just along for the ride, as usual.
If we can’t get rid of these guys next year, after all that’s happened, we’ll be in permanent trouble.
I think he’s been along for more than the ride — he wants to create that impression to insulate himself from trouble, which is occurring now.
He has notions of “right” and “wrong” that have been twisted by his views of God and faith developed during hs “recovery,” which he managed himself. He, therefore, has an arrogance about his position and philosophy. His current misinformation campaign on Iraq and terrorism is grounded in that arrogance. Bush knows about Osama Bin Laden and his philosophy and knows that Osama bin Laden believes that Saddam Hussein is evil, just as Osam believes that Bush is evil — Hussein and bin Laden are not on the same ideological side. Despite the fact that Bush does know this, he maintains the false story that the two are on the same side to quell rising discontent and support his anti-terrorism campaign.
And at the same time Bush is attacking on the international front, Ashcroft is campaigning around the country that terrorism is alive and well and hiding in your dark-skinned neighbor’s basement.
But George needs to paint the enemy with a broad brush to accomplish his goal of re-election. So, he is. He lies to the American people. He has utterly failed to uphold his oath of office.
If getting a blowjob in the Oval Office and trying to cover it up is an impeachable offense as some kind of high crime and misdemeanor, what did Bush do in his address to the nation?
Under his guidance, the Texas Rangers went in the dumper — can we expect any less for the United States? I’m hoping the stockholders will boot him out.
Hate seems so childish to me: “Daddy, I HATE you! Hate you hate you HATE you!”
Rather, I despise President Bush. His person and his values are odious.
A true understanding of, and faith in Jesus Christ, do not, in my opinion, mold men to be like George Bush. I keep harping on this in these comments, but there are just as many sad examples of non-Christians as there are Christians who don’t behave as if they are truly Christian. When considering those examples, you may, by your logic, say “It was their *lack* of faith in Christ that made them that way!” Sadly, many Christians make this argument, and it is not known for it’s evangelistic success.
Don’t disbelieve Jesus because Bush says he does. “Some Christian he is! I’m glad I’m not one!” Clinton professes Christian faith as well, so why don’t more liberals turn to Christ because of William? By the same token, don’t just believe Jesus because there is a good person who says they do. Don’t believe or disbelieve Jesus at all based on the actions of any human who is decended from Adam (Not our Adam, but I mean the first Adam, ya know..?) (I’m working on both Biblical premises about original inherited sin and that Jesus was who he said he was here)
Rather, believe Jesus after you have examined the facts about him and the example of Christianity he provided. If and if you decide to believe him, it is definitely possible to live in a way that is consistent with that professed faith. I try so very hard to do this everyday. I don’t always get it right, unfortunately. Don’t disbelieve Jesus because of me or Bush, please! Believe in Jesus because of who he is.
“I am the way: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.”
(John 14:6).
President Bush said that Jesus was his favorite philosopher. Jesus was not a philosopher. He did not study being as being, he is being. In any event, Bush contradicts the essence of Jesus in starting pre-emptive wars. This is totally outside the realm of who Jesus is.
Jesus said do unto others as they you want them to do to you.
Bush says do unto others before they do it to you.
