Now it can be told. (thanks to my friend Gerene for the link)

“when talking about weapons of mass destruction.”
>gag<
Letterman brought up Bush’s much-noted pronunciation of “nuclear” as NU-cu-lar — rather than NU-cle-ar — when talking about weapons of mass destruction.
Fleischer quipped: “That might be why we haven’t found them yet.”
Oh my. Given all the outrageous lies he’s told in the service of that administration, he’s gotta be carrying a serious grudge in regards to his severance to have said that.
There’s a level on which I’m really interested in why it is that I can like certain people who are associated with the Bush presidency (Powell, though considerably less-so now than before he started spending his credibility like water in defense of Fearless Leader; and, especially, Ari).
There’s that different category of people I love to watch, while still basically despising them (like Rumsfeld). But with Ari it’s different. I feel like I would actually enjoy just sitting down and hoisting a few beers with Ari and shooting the breeze.
Why is that?
I haven’t observed Ari enough beyond his role as smarmy administration apologist to know whether I’d like him as a person. But somehow I doubt it.
