Just got back from “The Two Towers.” Like last time, I don’t think I can put together anything all that coherent about the experience right now. It feels like hordes of orcs and men and elves are battling it out inside my head, with limbs and arrows flying.
I can say this: I am absolutely in awe of Peter Jackson, and all the people who worked for years on this project.
Just got back from it and I’m exhausted. Some movies are able to get into my head and make me react just as they director likes at the push of a button. This one had me sick to my stomach with tension, melting with relieve, and pretty much needing at least a year to recover sufficiently to see the next one.
I’ll stand next to you in the Awe row, Adam.
I just saw The Two Towers and it was okay.
Two theater movies for me in the space of one year? I’m on a roll!
God, it was amazing. Saying that, I have a couple of queries. Waht was with the extraneous sequences not in the movie? (Aragorn and the cliff, the wargs, the elves coming to Helm’s Deep, Frodo in the city, etc.) Not enough action in the book? And too much love story, besides.
I also would have liked to see more of Merry and Pippen. I asume they’ll all meet up at Isengard at the beginning of LOTR3, right? I’m just depressed it’ll take me another year to find out.
