Junior high all over again
More than once this week, I’ve spent time with people who were meeting me for the first time. This is unusual for me. Nice, but unusual. And I think I tend to forget that I’m pretty strong coffee for many people, especially at first blush. I think of myself as a low-key person who tends to hold back, maybe even too much. Then I get near new people and I feel like this bizarre Godzilla creature, trampling on everything, being loud and odd and making a terrible impression. Maybe I’m just trying too hard and it’s backfiring spectacularly. Or it’s just in my head. Anyone else ever feel the same way?
We now return to our regularly scheduled programming.

I go now.
You may feel like this bizarre Godzilla creature, but unless you’ve got Atomic Breath, I wouldn’t worry about it.
That’s odd, because I have to say that I’ve never noticed Adam’s breath. In fact, I’ve never been overtly aware of whether Adam was breathing or not, which is a good thing in my book. I’m such a mouth-breather.
I’m currently trying to get better at telling people how I feel about them (I’m rather withholding that way), so here’s a great opportunity to say: I like you Adam. You’ve never trampeled on my Tokyo.
Would you pick up a bus and throw it back down?
It’s just in your head. You come across as the low-key person. But I love the Godzilla analogy — it made me laugh.
You do extremely well, Adam. Don’t sell yourself short. Molly thought you had an infectious laugh.
I like Adam’s laugh, too. It makes everything you say to him sound far more witty than it actually is, as long as you can trigger it.
Adam, you are not at all Godzillaesque. Also, you are an excellent breather. I pay attention to things like this. Don’t ask why, you don’t want to know.
You make us feel special!
After these glowing testimonials, I want to meet Adam, too! Come to Miami, Adam!
WooHooo! Let’s all go to Miami!!!
