farewell to Blogger!
I’m back. It’s been an interesting and fun few days. It feels great to have all my weblog data in my own database, so I can do with it what I please. I’ve been wanting to do this at least since June.
There are a couple of changes around here:
-a tweak of the design. Hope you like it.
-when you click on the “talk back” link, you now go to a full page with the original post at the top, and all the comments below. I changed this because I like seeing the context of the comments on the same page, and I think a full page (rather than a pop-up window) gives the words room to breathe. But I can change this back if people don’t like it this way.
-permalinks now go to a separate page, rather than an anchor on an archive page. I think this is cleaner and better.
-rather than a separate “links” page, I set up a little database table with my favorite links in it. You’ll get one for each refresh. It’s a stopgap measure until I get my weblog directory system worked out.
I also changed the words mean things directory, as you have found. There will always be a redirect from the original page to this one, but you might want to update your bookmarks.
Let me know what you think, and bring on 2002!
Woohoo! First comment posted on WMT v.2 ! Looks nice, Adam. Very Blusty!
Very cool, love the colors. 😀
Very nice. And, coincidentally, my own blog came up in the “recommended link” spot.
Glad you’re enjoying MT.
Thanks for the good words, Dave, but this is my own homegrown system, using Cold Fusion. No Movable Type or Greymatter. So I can change it however I want. Which is cool and fun.
The only thing I’d change would be to have the comments come up in a new window or have a convenient button to get back to the main page so that you (or, rather, I) don’t have to keep back-clicking to get back to the main page. Capiche?
Ah. I stand corrected (and in awe). Even more congrats are in order, sir.
Great job Adam, it looks terrific.
lously colors think all sites should look about the same [smile]
I really love this colour scheme, it’s like having you stepping out of the darkness a little bit, you know?
