“God Bless America Day” would be pathetically funny if I wasn’t convinced that a possible majority of Americans might agree with this idea. Rather than making me laugh, that scares me.
But rather than write a rant, I have to admit that Michele said it much better than I could. (And special kudos to Miguel for his alternate “HFS Day” suggestion.)
Cheesy I can understand, but scary? Why?
Well, a certain level of cheese does rise to scariness …
I find it scary because it would indicate that the majority of Americans were willing to see such things in so jingoistic and sectarian a fashion.
Dave, that’s *exactly* what I meant by “scary.” Great minds and all that.
I’m thinking of adding “psychic wordsmith” to my business cards …
I thought every day was God Bless America Day!
