I just watched “Donnie Darko.”
Can someone explain it to me?
(Or maybe I wasn’t meant to understand.)

I haven’t seen it, but people over at Metafilter are fawning over it today.
Unrelated to this post– I just have to say that the current tagline is hilarious! There’s nothing more disatisfying than a non-sizzling fajita.
Okay…what I gathered was that Frank (the guy Donnie shot) went into the future and warned Donnie. Donnie’s own schizophrenia skewered Frank. Then Donnie realizes he can go back in time and ignore schizophrenia-skewered Frank and thus prevent the end of the world. He thinks this will prevent the jet engine, but the engine came out of the plane that Rose Darko was on and went through the portal with Donnie.

Sorry, but that only makes me more confused. I’ll just have to live with it, I think.
