My Internet Explorer is acting weird. When I spawn a new window, the status bar (which I like having) always disappears. When I do a “View Source,” nothing happens – this is bad for a web designer wanting to steal stuff. And when I try to download images, it wants to save JPEGs as giant bitmap files.
Reinstalling doesn’t help. And you can’t uninstall, since as we all know by now, IE is an intrinsic part of Windows. Ugh.
Any ideas?
Have you tried going to View-> Status Bar ?
A web designer stealing things? tsk tsk
If you use XP, Microsoft is issuing a patch next week that falls in line with the anti-trust ruling. From what I gather, it will allow you remove any type of MS program you want. This might help. Maybe?
Laural: I can do that, but I don’t want to do it by hand every time I open a new browser window.
Rob: I don’t really want to uninstall it permanently – I still like IE. But with other programs, the drill is to uninstall it completely before reinstalling it. I will look into it, though.
