Sure-fire appetite suppressant: Watching people in an eating contest on the Food Network try to choke down six-pound (!) hamburgers, covered in lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and pickles, inside a bun the size of a giant loaf of bread.

I may never eat again.

There are REASONS not to watch Food Network — or the Travel Channel, for that matter.

Darn! I missed it. After seeing the hot dog eating competition, I found myself wanting more, more, more! Just the bizareness (sp?) of such a scene makes me want to watch…but it does confirm the theory, “Just because you can, ….”

Oh, I forgot…did anyone finish the monster burger? Please say no.

No one finished the six-pounder (thank god), but many people finished the level below that, which was three-pound burgers. Still horrifying.

Did they throw the leavings to the dogs, or to those pesky street children? I swear, we should make every CEO and advertising executive in the country read up on the French Revolution.
