Back from the beyond

Had an interesting conversation the other day on AIM with Suey about cartoons and cartoon characters. I had picked Daffy Duck as my AIM icon image, since I sort of identify with him – he’s always trying too hard, and he’s often frustrated by it. I love Bugs and want to be like him, but I’m just not him – I’m more Daffy. I could never be as cool and collected and in control as Bugs. The same in the Pooh universe: I so want to be Tigger, but I’m not – I’m Eeyore. Which cartoon characters do you most identify with?

    Bugs sucks. Stick with Daffy.

I identify most with Spongebob Squarepants, because I too live in a pineapple under the sea.

Oh, and I finally figured out what cartoon character I identify with.

    Stimpy.

Eeyore. Oh, yeah. I keep a stuffed one (Gund “classic” style) on my monitor, to remind me when I’m immediately responding to things in a knee-jerk negative fashion.

Oh my God! Are you my shadow self? I wrote my college application essay on why I always liked ducks better than other creatures in cartoons because they were always under the shadow of rabbits and mice and stuff…

how amazing! I am in the middle of writing my leftie post today and here you are posting your cartoon entry! How thoroughly inspirational we are 🙂

and I am Piglit from WtP and Blossom from the Powerpuff Girls.

kd, when I first read Kevin’s comment I thought it was from you

I remember Suey asking me this one. I am both Tigger from WtP, and also Raphael from the Ninja Turtles.

Also to second Suey, kd, I remember reading you mention who lives in a pineapple… and though that Kevin’s comment was from you.

I mostly identify with Pooh himself. I have my Eeyore moments, however.

Maybe I could use this strange identity that I seem to have established to my benefit. hmmm *stroking chin*

I also identify with Wiley Coyote at times, but don’t we all?
