Why do we keep doing things we know aren’t good for us?

    Because it reminds us of who we are. Or who we want to be. Or because the resulting discomfort reminds us we are alive. Or perhaps, because we are really fucking dumb (that occurs to me to be MY excuse anyway).

    Could it be becuase after the boot in the teeth, the absence of the boot can feel like pleasure?
