Leo Laporte and Patrick Norton are demonstrating parental internet blocking software on “The Screen Savers” right now. In showing that blocking software does block some legitimate sites, Leo showed how CyberPatrol blocks the official White House site, whitehouse.gov, because it “contains hate speech.”
You can’t make this stuff up.
I’m sure the Bush Administration would be more than happy to see legislation passed requiring that whitehouse.gov be whitelisted, regardless of its content. Yeesh.
Mmmmm … Patrick Norton.
Aurghlughlughlguhhhh……
____________
I go now.
I would never block anything from Patrick Norton.
A test of whitehouse.gov (vs. whitehouse.com) on the CyberPatrol test page indicates it’s not blocked (any more?).
