“Your face looks like non-fat milk.”
Caught the often-overlooked 80s gem “Three O’Clock High” on cable today while I was avoiding work. Does anyone else remember this movie with the same fondness I do? Casey Siemaszko brilliantly represented every put-upon high school nerd you ever knew, or were. And he kicked the ass of the hulking bully and got the girl! Directed by Phil Joanou, the movie had a dreamy, blissed-out quality that was a great antidote to the committee-created feel of the John Hughes comedies of the same years. It’s a high school comedy for people who hate high school comedies.
Highly recommended. Plus, it’s just recently out on DVD.
I haven’t seen in in about 10 years, but I remember the part where the friend takes forever getting dressed in one of those walk in closets that only exists in movies about high school — and how he brushed his teeth with diet coke.
I really liked it at the time. I thought it had an interesting style. I wonder what I’d think about it now.
What I’d really like to watch again is Midnight Madness. It’s been out on DVD for a while but I haven’t gotten around to it. I watched that one a hundred times when I was little.
Younger, I mean. I’m still the same height.
This was an instant favorite of mine. Often rented. I should get the DVD. Great film. Totally overlooked.
