Unintentionally funny quote of the week

“I’m definitely anti-war, but at the same time, we’re trying to live our lives here,” fumed Mark Thedis as he spent 30 minutes in his idling Range Rover in an alleyway off Folsom Street. “If they’re trying to get people on their side, it’s not working.”

No wait, this one is good too

“Now, at a time of war, these people out here protesting are behaving like traitors,” said Russian immigrant Alexander Gosen. He spent the morning at Franklin and Fell streets waving a sign reading “Viva Bush” on one side and “Go to hell, peaceniks” on the other. “They should all be arrested. They don’t know what it’s like to live under a tyrant.”

re: living under a tyrant: no, but we’re learning real fast . . .

As of today, the protesters do know what it feels like. The San Francisco police department is beating and arresting nonviolent protesters. A legal observer broadcasting on the radio was hit in the groin. He said he has witnessed multiple violations of SFPD’s own police conduct guidelines.

dubya shut down Bagdad with violent action. The protesters shut down San Francisco with non-violent action. Protest is not supposed to be convenient for those being protested, nor is it always convenient for bystanders.

We don’t know what it means to live under a tyrant? Puh-leeze. Dubya is the genuine article and the epitome of *tyrant* …I am waiting for a regime change in the U.S.
I am an Army spouse whose husband is involved in this atrocity and living under a tyrant has taken on new and terrifying meaning for my family…

I love your blog…found it via PeaceBlogs (I am also a member). You have a new forever fan in me.
